About

My name is Jude, I am a Counsellor, Psychotherapist (PG Dip level, MBACP) and Counselling Supervisor in training, based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I am a relational, integrative TA (Transactional Analysis) therapist with particular interest in working with unconscious processes, anxiety, panic attacks, trauma, self harm, existential issues, creative blocks, relational conflicts, LGBTQI+ related issues, and mental health symptoms related to the hormonal cycle, such as endometriosis, PCOS, PMDD, PMT and menopause. I will often make psychoeducation (such as polyvagal theory) a part of our work, to better help you understand what you might be experiencing. I find this to be particularly helpful when working with anxiety, depression and trauma.

I have over 3 years of experience in working within a Further Educational setting as Counselling Lead with Edinburgh College. I have worked with students in counselling on a short term basis (6-12 sessions) and have additional experience of working in open ended therapy. Within my private practice I am happy to work either on a short or long term basis.

I received my training through Physis Training, Edinburgh, where I acquired my COSCA diploma in Counselling using Transactional Analysis in November 2016. My 2 year placement as volunteer counsellor at the time of my training was with Gay Men’s Health and LGBT Health and Wellbeing.

Supervision
I am currently enrolled in a Supervision in counselling diploma course (COSCA accredited) with Ellesmere Counselling Training. I hope to finalise my training in 2024. If you are a counsellor or trainee counsellor looking for a supervisor based in Edinburgh, or for online supervision work, I currently offer sessions for free. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss this further.
